Rob Lowe Has Hilarious Response to Being the Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos' 'Celebrity Crush'

Rob Lowe teases part of a reality TV franchise he’d like to be a part of.

In the episode of October 16 Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Golden BachelorJoan Vassos revealed that she was an extra St. Elmo’s fire 1985 and teased that Lowe has been her dream man ever since.

“I met him, and ever since I met him, I’ve had a huge celebrity crush on Rob Lowe,” she admitted.

“Would you replace whoever you choose The Golden Bachelor for Rob Lowe?” asked host Jimmy Kimmel.

Vassos (61) declared without hesitation: “That, in one second!”

Lowe, 60, responded to the statement on Nov. 13, in a fun Instagram video just hours before The Golden Bachelor finals.

The clip is a clip from Vassos’ interview with Lowe sitting and watching before looking up and exclaiming, “I could be The Golden Bachelor.”

“It’s better than the Golden Globes – I think,” jokes Lowe – who has been married to wife Sheryl Berkoff since 1991.

“Excited for the final!” he captioned the post, tagging Vassos’ i The Golden Bachelor’with bills.

Vassos will face a tough “life-changing decision” between finalists Chock and Guy na The Golden Bachelor finals. The preview shows her waking up to realize she’s fallen in love with one of them, which was especially significant considering her struggle throughout the season to overcome her grief for her late husband John.

“I really struggled with it in the middle of the season,” she recently told PEOPLE. “Bachelor it gives you access to psychiatrists who are actually in the mansion with you on the show, so that’s what I did. I actually had an appointment with them and we talked about what that would be, why it was so hard for me to continue this journey and that I felt like I was still in love with John and I would never be in love with him. And they say, ‘Well, that’s fine.'”

“They said, ‘Think of it as having a balloon in each hand. One is John, and one is this other person that you have feelings for, and you don’t have to let go of this one to have this one,’ she continued. “There is room in your heart and memory for more than one person.” And I just needed to hear that it was okay. I didn’t have to stop loving John, and I didn’t know it.”

Vassos told PEOPLE that the mental health resources and fast-paced nature of the show forced her to face her fears and move forward without fear of opening her heart to another man.

“I evolved a lot during the season,” she explained. “I came there thinking I was so ready to find love, and then I realized it was a much different path than I thought it would be. But I feel like I’ve grown up and I don’t think I would ever be where I am today if I hadn’t done this, because it kind of gave me the motivation to go through some of these emotions quickly because I wanted to end up with someone.”

By the end of the season, she said she felt like she landed “exactly where I was supposed to be.”
