Robbie Williams Recalls 'Unfortunate' Moment When He Pooped Himself on Stage: 'I Retained My Composure'

The “Angels” singer opened up about the embarrassing ordeal during a Take That concert in Amsterdam in 2011.

Robbie Williams is opening up about the moment on stage when he thought he was going to get gas – but it “wasn’t just a fart”.

The “Angels” singer, 49, shared an interesting post on Instagram this week in which he described the moment he soiled himself on stage while performing with his band Take That a few years ago.

Williams – who shared a note under the cartoon that read, “sometimes your favorite artists fart on stage” – wrote that he had “terrible” food poisoning that “felt like death” in the middle of a reunion tour with the British pop band.

His illness was so severe that the group had to “cancel the show in Denmark because of it,” Williams wrote. NME reported in 2011 that Take That canceled a show in Denmark at the time because Williams had become “violently ill” from food poisoning.

“Anyway, a few days later we played at the Ajax stadium in Amsterdam,” Williams wrote. “Still not well enough, I ventured on stage. I was in a precarious position where I couldn’t “trust the fart”. Which was unfortunate because I was supposed to do it during my opening song. Let me entertain you.”

“I’m sure you can imagine it wasn’t just a fart. But, ever the professional, I kept my composure and gave myself 100% to the performance.”

Footage from a July 2011 performance shows the group performing high above the crowd, with Williams indeed keeping his composure during the group’s opening song.

“Because of the picture I just painted, I’m sure you have questions. But let’s just let the dormant logs lie for now,” Williams added.

“A gig parp at any other time can be liberating…. This got me thinking – What artist comes to mind as a Performing Parper? Oh, PP I want two answers. The artist and the song you imagine them performing it to. And the second answer is for someone you think has never farted on stage.”

Williams then revealed that he believes Mick Jagger gives the gas to “Jumping Jack Flash” while Thom Yorke doesn’t on stage.

The musician’s message comes just months after Joe Jonas revealed on KIIS FM Will & Woody radio show in Australia that he once soiled himself on stage.

The “Sucker” singer (34) told the show that the incident happened four years ago and that he quickly changed his costume. “It’s fresh, but I got through it, a lot of therapy,” he joked at the time.

“Let’s just say it was a bad day to wear white. You think it could be something small, maybe it was something else, something a little more. So it was like a mid-set wardrobe change.”
