Robert Griffin III loves being a woman’s father.
The former NFL player, 34, spoke to PEOPLE at Receiver premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 9, where he revealed how much he loves raising daughters Gia, 18 months, Gameya, 4, and Gloria, 7, who he shares with wife Greta Šadeiko Griffin, 31. Robert is also dad to his 9-year-old daughter Reese Ann from a previous relationship.
“Honestly, it just changes your perspective on life. No matter what happened with me on camera, off camera, when I come home, I’m dad. And they run up to dad and hug dad and it takes all your worries away,” he says. proud dad.

The athlete went on to explain how raising his daughters and motivating them to work hard is an “incredible” feeling.
“For me, it’s just instilling in them that they can be whatever they want to be, as long as they work hard at it and just enjoy life. So that’s been amazing for me,” he tells PEOPLE. “They have an amazing mother here in my wife, Grete, who really sacrifices a lot for me so that I can do the job that I do. But it always comes down to where I am present for my children and I want to be present for them.”
“So they just love me for who I am every day, how much I love their mom, how I treat them, how I raise them,” adds Robert. “And that, for me, is something I don’t take lightly. I take it very seriously. And it’s a pleasure to be their father.”

Robert and his wife welcomed baby Gija in January 2023, announcing her birth with a joint post on Instagram.
The photo carousel began with a close-up of a newborn snuggled in a raging blanket and looking at the camera. One of the couple’s daughters could then be seen leaning in to kiss the mum as she held the baby while still in the hospital.
Other photos showed the sports analyst and his daughters bonding with the newest member of the family. “Gia Griffin💖2023 is off to an amazing start✨,” they wrote alongside the joint post.
