Robert Ri’chard preferred to leave his acting job to enjoy fans.
In an exclusive interview with people at the 16th annual awards for African American film criticism in Los Angeles on Wednesday, February 19, the 42-year-old actor revealed that he never watched any of the TV shows or films he starred in Back in the day.
“I’ve never seen anything I did,” he admits. “I never saw Coach Carternot Relativenot One to one. ”
Explaining why, he says, “I’m just in him for love. Yes. The face I get from people who say,” I watch your show. Popcorn, theater, chocolate, television, lights. “I just love the fact that people enjoy my work.”
Thinking about his time on a sitcom One to one – which was aired from 2001 to 2006 on UPN, and also played by Kyla Pratt and Mark “Flex” Alexander – Ri’chard notes, “It’s a classic.”
“Kyla Pratt and I had an amazing ride. We made five seasons of that show,” he adds. “We really had a little bit of Arnaz, I love Lucy duo [dynamic]. ”

Later this year, Ri’chard will appear in a new criminal drama Drug unit In addition to Erica PeePles and Terayle Hill. “It’s great,” he says to the people in the project. “It’s under an amc banner. It’s fantastic. I play a bad boy, Ganster, so my hair reduced everything. It’s a good deed.”
“I play Zeke Williams and he kills everything,” he adds, he jokes that he is currently in his “Eri villain”. “Yes, the last four films, I killed almost 100 people.”

“I’ve been in the industry for 29 years. Things I think you would probably connect [me with] they are fast My cousin Skeeter and One to one. I collaborated with Usher, Forest Whitaker and Samuel L. Jackson and all these great, beautiful actors, “he said.” And now I am in such a period of time in which I am a leading man and carry projects. It’s getting bigger and better, and I’m really there for that. ”
He also noted that he loved versatility as an actor, given the many genres available.
“You have to entertain people at home. So you have action movies, rom-com and drama and thrillers, tension. And obviously the worst, horrors,” he said, referring to the movie he was making at the time, Demonic revenge.
