Robyn Brown Still Feels ‘Abandoned’ and Is in a ‘Constant Fight Not to Be Sad’ After Sister Wives Splits (Exclusive)

Sister wives‘ Robyn Brown is still struggling with the end of the life she once had.

“There’s a weird feeling of, ‘This was the deal — to be together and end up together and always be a family.’ And I just feel like people are gone,” one surviving sister of husband Kody Brown tells PEOPLE about dealing with the fallout from her husband’s failed relationships.

Christine Brown was the first to leave the polygamous union in November 2021. Thirteen months later, Janelle Brown announced that she was separating from Kody, after which Meri Brown confirmed that Kody was no longer considered married to her.

Robyn admits that “Meria’s situation [is] different than maybe Janelle or Christina. She held on for a very long time. So I look at it in a very different way than Janelle or Christina. But, yes, I feel kind of abandoned.”

She concludes: “It’s not entirely logical, but it’s emotional. And that’s kind of how I feel. Yes, it’s hard.”

The emotion that Robyn experienced the most was sadness. “Right now it’s a constant struggle not to think about it and not be sad,” she admits. “I’m definitely going through a lot of loss and grieving over this situation. I really hope — I mean, that would be the goal to just accept the situation and figure out how to be happy in spite of it and respect people’s journey. And that’s my goal right now.”

Kody previously admitted to PEOPLE that his dynamic with Robyn changed after the other women left the polygamy agreement.

“We will not recover from this,” he said. “I mean, it’s not clinical depression, but we were a little depressed because of what the experience did. That’s an understatement. But we went through a very difficult experience and our reaction to it changed us. We are not the same.”
