Rod Stewart is dropping more shows from his schedule.
The “Maggie May” singer, 79, announced on Instagram that he has canceled two more North American shows on his schedule after contracting COVID-19 β days after canceling his Aug. 7 concert in Las Vegas due to a sore throat.
A statement from his team released on Friday, August 9 read: “We regret to announce that Rod Stewart’s concert tonight in Stateline, NV and his concert on August 10th in Lincoln, CA have been postponed as the singer recovers from a summer strain of COVID 19. ”
The press release states that the Stateline and Lincoln concerts have been moved to August 20 and 18, respectively. His team noted that fans who bought tickets “should hold on to them” as they “will be treated to delayed performances.”

Several fans expressed their support for Stewart by reacting to the post, with many wishing the singer a speedy recovery. One fan wrote: “Be well Sir Rod!” while others wished him “get well soon”.
The British pop artist announced earlier this week that he had come down with a sore throat and was unable to take the stage for his scheduled show for his Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on August 7th.
“Most people can work with a sore throat, but apparently not me,” he wrote. “My deepest regrets for the inconvenience this has caused.”

Stewart added that he had been “looking forward” to the performance – which would mark the 200th appearance in his 13-year stay at the venue – for “so long”, writing, “I’m totally gutted.”
The canceled show was originally scheduled to close the star’s critically acclaimed residency, dubbed The Hits, which first began in Las Vegas in August 2011, before Stewart kicks off his 2024 North American tour in Stateline, Nev.

However, Stewart took to Instagram on August 7 to share the positive news, saying the residency is “coming back for an encore” next year. “Now we’re coming back in 2025 and I hope to see you all there.π,” he said in his post.
The new slate of concerts will take place at the same venue at 7:30 p.m. March 12-22 and May 29-June 8 for what Stewart is calling Encore Shows, and will feature the biggest hits of his career, plus “surprises.” from his legendary catalog of songs.
Meanwhile, his North American tour is scheduled to visit six different cities across the US, running through September. He is expected to perform several concerts in Europe in December before returning to America to continue his residency in Las Vegas in 2025.
