Ron Livingston deals in vintage fashion Sex and the city way.
In the December 30 episode of the podcast WTF with Marc MaronLivingston — who played Jack Berger, one of Carrie Bradshaw’s love interests on the show — opened up about his vast wardrobe of suits.
Berger wore a number of suits at the show, and Livingston was clearly gifted in many of them. They’re now “20 years old,” Livingston said, but they’re from an era of talented fashion designers and high-quality clothing.

“I haven’t bought a suit in 20 years,” he said. “I can’t afford anything as nice as this was 20 years ago. You know, I can, but no – I can’t spend that money on it.”

It doesn’t make sense for him to buy suits anyway, he said, because he claims there aren’t that many occasions that call for it in his current lifestyle. And while re-dressing for public outings has been frowned upon in the past, Livingston doesn’t care – and he’s “at an age” where he thinks others don’t either.
Livingston also said he doesn’t like getting rid of clothes — saying too many items have “emotional energy” attached to them.
He tried to go through “a good 50 shirts that I got” while filming the project. They were plaid, he said, which he liked for a while, but in the meantime he moved on. So Livingston pulled them all out of his closet and threw them in a pile — which has been sitting there for about three weeks, he shared on the podcast.

“And I’m just looking at the crowd waiting for one of them to say something,” Livingston joked. – And I don’t know if that will happen.
Most of the time, any attempt to clean up turns into unnecessary reorganization, he said.
Livingston SATC the character, Berger, is pretty despicable – the author dismissed Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, via a Post-It note.

Rosemarie DeWitt, who has been married to Livingston since 2009, shared further The Drew Barrymore Show in November 2024 that her husband was “bitter for a long time” over the awful breakup.
“Back in the day, when we first started dating, we’d be walking around the West Village and there would be those Sex and the city tour, and Ron would say, ‘Go left! Go left!’ she said.
“And we’d have to hide in the Magnolia Bakery or something because the women would come up to him and scream at him,” she continued. “They’d say, ‘You broke up with her on a sticky note!'”
