Russell Crowe’s 2 Children: All About His Sons Charles and Tennyson

Russell Crowe and his ex-wife Danielle Spencer had two children during their nearly decade-long marriage: sons Charles and Tennyson.

The couple married in 2003, divorced in 2012 and eventually finalized their divorce in 2018. Crowe and Spencer celebrated the arrival of Charles in December 2003, a few months after their wedding earlier that spring, and Tennyson joined the family nearly three years later.

In the 2016 interview Daily mail, the actor revealed that after the divorce from Spencer, the former couple decided that the sons would live with their mother in Australia. “Our main focus is on our kids so they feel safe,” Crowe said, explaining that they have “a family vacation about once a year.”

Crowe’s first son, Charles, was born on December 21, 2003, just a few months after the actor and Spencer tied the knot.

When he was a small child, Charles seemed to want some of the attention his father received. In an interview from 2007 Tonight’s showCrowe talked about bringing him to a radio press conference when he was 3 years old.

“The first thing he does is lean over and turn one of the microphones on him [and says]’Dad, I’d like to tell a joke’ — and then he proceeded to tell his favorite one in front of these 30 journalists.”

Still, Crowe said he wouldn’t want his older son to follow in his footsteps, explaining that acting involves dealing with “tremendous amounts of rejection,” so it’s “not something you’d want him to do.”

Of course, even as a kid, Charles was fascinated by his dad’s career. In 2009, Crowe said his older son was excited about his dad playing Robin Hood.

However, over time, that feeling was less prevalent, according to the actor.
