Ryan Reynolds Calls Anna Faris ‘One of the Funniest People I’ve Ever Worked with’ in Birthday Tribute

Ryan Reynolds wishes Anna Faris a happy birthday!

After Faris turned 47 on Nov. 29, Reynolds shared a photo of the pair posing together at the actor’s 2016 Hollywood Walk of Fame induction on his Instagram Stories on Thursday, praising his friend and doppelganger.

“A little late… One of the funniest people I’ve ever worked with. Happy birthday @annafaris,” Reynolds, who turned 47 in October, captioned the photo.

He and Faris worked together twice early in their careers, the first time on the 2005 black comedy. Waiting…and then on a romantic comedy, Just friendswhich came out later that same year.

Faris and Reynolds have shared a close friendship ever since. She made remarks on his behalf when he Dead pool star was inducted on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles in 2016, saying at the time that the couple first met on set Waiting…which follows a group of restaurant employees over the course of a day.

“I have to tell you that acting with Ryan is like playing an incredibly intense game of table tennis,” she said at the time, per Diversityvideo from the ceremony.

She added: “When he looks at you during a scene, you know he’s going to challenge you in every way, which is exciting and terrifying, and makes him a real pleasure because he’s so brilliant and spontaneous and expects the best out of his costs.”

IN Just friendsReynolds played a record industry executive who reconnects with his high school best friend and crush, Jamie (Amy Smart), while on a road trip with an up-and-coming pop singer named Samantha James, played by Faris.

During Reynolds’ Walk of Fame ceremony, Faris described her friend as “the kind of actor who made me and everyone else he works with better” on their film sets.

“He’s also a man of tremendous integrity and a brilliant leader, on and off set,” she said at the time. “But more importantly, he is an amazing husband, father and friend.”

Reynolds and Faris’ second Just friends costar Smart, 47, recently reunited with Reynolds for a Thanksgiving-themed commercial for his Aviation American Gin brand called “Just Friendsgiving,” to mark the 18-year anniversary of the holiday romcom’s release.

Faris last appeared in the 2022 comedy Estateher first major film since leaving the CBS sitcom, Mom, in 2020. She also hosts a popular podcast, Anna Faris is unqualified.

Although she did return to the big screen in 2022 — ending a four-year gap after acting in 2018.
