Sabbhineni Meghana is an Indian cricketer who has represented the Indian national team in many events. She topped the runs for two consecutive seasons and became one of the most talented batsmen in domestic cricket in Andhra Pradesh. She signed with the Gujarat Giants for the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2023.

Sabbineni Meghana also known as Sabbineni Meghana was born in Krishna, Andhra Pradesh, India. According to one source, she was born on Friday, June 7, 1996 (age 26; as of 2022), while according to another source, she was born on Saturday, November 16, 1996 (age 26; as of 2022). She played badminton, skated and swam before playing seventh-level cricket. She attended a cricket camp organized by her school, DAV Public School, and was the only girl in the entire town to attend the camp. She later joined a cricket academy in Vijayawada under coach Srinivas Reddy. She attended school regularly until 2008; however, when she made the state team that same year, she often went to school on non-game days and during exams. She is a graduate and holds a B.Sc.

In 2008, she was selected for the Andhra Pradesh Under-19 team and trained under the guidance of Purnima Rao. She subsequently played for Andhra Pradesh Under-23 and senior teams. From the 2014-15 season to the 2016-17 season, she represented the Southern District in domestic competitions. She started playing for South Central Railways in 2017 after coach Nooshin al Khadeer and RSR Murthy selected her through talent quota, and started playing for Indian Railways in the same year.
She helped Indian Railways win the BCCI Women’s Under-23 Trophy in 2019, the Senior Women’s ODI Trophy in 2021 and the Senior Women’s T20I Trophy in 2022.

She made her ODI debut on 11 February 2022 against New Zealand in Queenstown, New Zealand and scored 4 runs. On 18 February 2022, she scored 61 runs against New Zealand in Queenstown, New Zealand, scoring her first ODI fifty. She has been selected as a substitute player in the Indian team for the 2022 ODI World Cup in New Zealand.

She made her T20 debut against the West Indies in Vijayawada, India on 20 November 2016 and scored 17 runs. She scored 69 against Maldives in Sylhet, Bangladesh, to score her first T20I fifty. She is a member of the 2022 Asian Cup championship team.

Megana was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs. The 2024 Women’s Premier League auction was held in Mumbai on December 9, 2023 and the price was Rs 30 Lakhs.
