Sabrina Carpenter Runs Screaming on Stage After Standing Close to Fireworks at Outside Lands Festival

Sabrina Carpenter was spooked by fireworks on stage over the weekend. Fortunately, the race was on Short and sweet!

During her headlining performance at San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music Festival on Saturday, Aug. 10, the “Espressa” singer screamed and jumped off the stage after a stray firework appeared to come close to her, according to livestream footage of the event.

Carpenter, 25, was dancing when pyrotechnics exploded behind her, startling her and causing her to scream and jump forward. Then she looked back and screamed once more, covering her mouth as she ran away from the stray sparks.

The star appeared to escape the pyrotechnics unscathed though, finishing her Outside Lands performance and continuing to post on social media after the festival.

Representatives for Carpenter did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
