Sabrina Carpenter Says She Loves Taylor Swift ‘So Dearly’ After Sydney Eras Tour Duet: ‘Always Will’

On Saturday, Carpenter, 24, said her 9-year-old self wouldn’t have believed she got to perform with Swift, 34, as she sang the “Karma” singer’s praises in a heartfelt post.

The pair performed a duet at Friday’s Eras Tour show in Sydney, after Carpenter canceled her opening act because the show was postponed due to bad weather.

Sharing a clip of the performance on Instagram, Carpenter added a sweet message for her friend. “9-year-old Sabrina singing the white horse would never have seen this s—- coming! I love you so much, Taylor. I always have the will,” she began.

“Thank you Sydney for making me so welcome!! See you tonight💌,” she signed ahead of opening her show for Swift in Sydney on Saturday.

Carpenter proved her claim of being a longtime Swiftie in the post as she also shared a screenshot of a social media post she wrote at age 9 in August 2009 about trying to meet Swift.

“I was trying to enter the Taylor Swift contest to win tickets and a chance to meet her, but they said I had to be 13 :(,” it read.

In the footage released, Carpenter sat next to Swift next to a piano decorated with flowers as the pair performed a medley of “White Horse” and “Coney Island” for excited fans at Accor Stadium. The video ended with the singers leaning on each other and smiling.

Carpenter shared her gratitude for the duet with Swift in a post on Friday.

Another photo included in the carousel post shows Swift hugging Carpenter by the piano after she performed their duet.

On Friday night, Swift surprised concertgoers by bringing Carpenter on stage to perform with her after announcing a new version of her upcoming album, Department for Tortured Poets, at the fair in Sydney.

IN video split on X (ex-Twitter), Swift told fans while sitting at the piano, “It’s good to have options, everybody likes options, you know. I wanted to show you something if you put your attention on the main screen.”

“This is an alternative mask for Ward Poet Ward,” she continued, as the crowd cheered. “And so this release is called ‘The Albatross’ because there’s an exclusive bonus track on this vinyl called ‘The Albatross,’ and I can’t wait for you to hear it.”

Swift then introduced Carpenter on stage. “My incredibly talented, wonderful, gorgeous, hilarious, genius opening act Sabrina Carpenter,” she continued. “She heroically sacrificed her show, which I think is a crime against Sydney. And I think that needs to be fixed, so I’m going to perform it myself now, is that okay, Sydney?”

The crowd roared their approval as Carpenter joined them. The performance was followed from the VIP tent by Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce, and fellow singers and guests Katy Perry and Rita Ora.
