News of the “Sharpest Tool” singer’s chart dominance comes just days after she made a sly comment that appeared to refer to Nicki Minaj’s battle for the No. 1 spot in 2018 when her album Queen went with Scott’s Astroworld.
“this is for nicki,” Carpenter wrote on Thursday, August 29 via X (formerly known as Twitter).
Later that night, Minaj posted A girl meets the world love for the album, saying, “Shout out to Sabrina Carpenter, shout out to all Sabrina Carpenter fans.”
In 2018, the 41-year-old “Barbie World” artist seemingly took issue with how Scott’s tour and merchandise sales factored into his chart numbers, claiming that Billboard he wouldn’t let her do the same.
“Travis has sold over 50 thousand of these. No request to buy the album,” she wrote on X. “No tour dates, etc. I talked to him. He knows he doesn’t have a No. 1 album this week.”
Minaj also took aim at Scott’s then-girlfriend Kylie Jenner, as well as Drake in her online tirade.
Minaj added: “I put my blood sweat and tears into writing a dope album just for Travis Scott so Kylie Jenner would put out a tour pass telling people to come see her and Stormi.”
During her online rant, the rapper also noted how women are often “systematically pushed out of their positions” without the ability to “fight back.”
