Sadashiv was born on Thursday, May 11, 1950 in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra (age 64 at the time of death). He completed his schooling from AES Navin Marathi Shala, Ahmednagar and then pursued his bachelor’s degree from Ahmednagar College. Later, Sadashiv received his MA in History and MA in Sociology from Savitribai Phule University, Pune.

Sadashiv has always had a talent for acting and was very active on stage during his student and college days. At the age of 21, he began working in theater. He has starred in and directed more than 50 plays. Sadashiv began his foray into Marathi films with his debut film Aamras (1976). In 1981, Sadashiv was discovered in a Marathi drama called “Hands Up” by producer Govind Nihalani, who gave him a role in the film “Hands Up”. An opportunity to play ‘Rama Shetty’ (negative protagonist) in Ardh Satya’. The film was a huge success and Sadashev even earned himself movie ticket prices for his performance.

The 1987 Bollywood film Hukumat made Sadashiv a villain in Hindi cinema. The film grossed more at the box office than Mr. India, which was released in the same year. Sadashiv’s role as ‘Maharani’ in the 1992 Bollywood film Sadak is considered one of his best performances. Sadashiv received the Filmfare Award for his performance as a villain, the first time the Filmfare Award has been won in this category.
Sadashiv made his television debut in Shyam Benegal’s epic drama ‘Bharat Ek Khoj’. He plays the role of social reformer ‘Mahatama Jyotirao Phule’.

In the mid-1990s, he turned his attention to comedy roles, appearing in “Ishq” (1997), “Hum Saath Saath Hain” (1999), “Coolie No. 1” (1995), “Aunty No. 1” (1998) years) and other movies. There are a lot more.
After appearing in Bollywood films for a while, Sadashiv was last seen in Dibakar Banerjee’s 2012 film Bombay Talkies. In an interview, when asked about his separation from Bollywood, he said:
“Why should I? I never said I was retired or didn’t want to make movies anymore. It’s just that the roles I came across tended to be repetitive, and I was brave enough to turn them down. Earlier, when I was 32 When I started my career at age 1, I wanted to do movies to gain recognition. When I became an actor, my goal was to earn money to support my family. But things are different now. As you get older, your priorities change .”

Sadashiv passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the age of 64. He died at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai due to pulmonary fibrosis (lung infection). His last rites were performed in his hometown Ahmednagar. Many influential figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, condoled his death.
