Sagarika was born on January 8, 1986, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India (38 years; age as of 2023). She rose to fame with her role as “Preeti Sabharwal” in the sports drama “Chak De!” “India” co-stars Shah Rukh Khan. She has not only appeared in Bollywood movies but also in reality shows. Not many people know that real life hockey players are also real life national level hockey players.

Her grandmother Sita Raje Ghatge was the daughter of Tukojirao Holkar III, the Maharaja of Indore. She has a brother, Shivjeet Ghatge, who works as an account manager in a private company.

Sagarika attended Mayo College Girls’ School, a boarding school in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India, and graduated from the Institute of Human Resources, Commerce and Economics, Mumbai, India. During her school days, she participated in several sports competitions. She is also a national level hockey player. After completing her studies, she started working as a model and completed many modeling assignments. Since she was an excellent hockey player, she got an opportunity to play the role of “Preeti Sabharwal”, a member of the Indian women’s hockey team, in the famous Bollywood movie Chak De! India (2007). Since then, she has never looked back. She became the brand ambassador of Reebok India, a global sneaker and apparel company.
