Salvatore Rivera, a Bronx resident, has been identified as the prime suspect in Saturday’s shooting on Tremont Avenue. According to the New York Post, Rivera is a 51-year-old man.
The Bronx is where he calls home. Police have yet to release information about the motives for the shooting, which left one dead and three injured. The Post also claims that there is another suspect in the incident that authorities have yet to arrest.

Jeremiah Smith, 24, who was shot in the stomach during the incident, was found alive at the scene, according to police. He died, however, on the way to the San Bernabé hospital.
Among the injured is a 37-year-old man who was shot in the body and is currently in serious condition. According to The Post, he is in the same hospital where Smith died and is fighting for his life.
The second victim is a 36-year-old man who was shot in the ankle. The second person, 58 years old, was caught in the buttocks.

A second suspect was arrested in connection with a quadruple shooting in the Bronx on Friday that left one person dead and three others injured.
Jose Parilla, 32, of the Upper West Side, was charged with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, police said Saturday.
Despite the recent shootings, according to Mayor Eric Adams, crime has decreased. “There have been fewer shootings in the city this week. Murders are on the decline in the city. So it looks like we are losing when there are high-profile cases, but we are winning,” Adams explained.
