Sandra Bernhard Apologizes for Her 'Snotty' Attitude with Roseanne Costar Morgan Fairchild: 'One of My Biggest Regrets'

Sandra Bernhard has some regrets about the time she spent Roseanne.

The Will and Grace alum, 69, appeared on Watch what’s happening live earlier this week and admitted to host Andy Cohen that she sees her behavior on set Roseanne now different. When asked what it was like to work with Morgan Fairchild, Bernhard had a surprising answer.

“One of my biggest regrets is not being nicer to her,” she said. “I was kind of dismissive of Morgan, and to this day I’d like to say to Morgan, ‘It was amazing working with you.'”

The actress went on to explain that she doesn’t know why she wasn’t nice to Fairchild — who played Bernard’s on-screen girlfriend Marla in the hit series in 1992 — but it was “the right time” to make amends because he thought he Look for Sutra the actress may be watching.

“You’re great and you’re on the right politically,” Bernhard said. “I owe you an apology. I adore you and thank you for putting up with my snotty attitude.”

She later added: “She’s going to watch it and she’s going to hear it and she deserves it. She is a great lady. The game is here Roseanne and she was willing to be my girlfriend.”

Cohen, 56, was surprised that Bernhard felt guilty for years. He jokingly asked, “Really? What was wrong with you?” Bernhard said she had no answer.

“Everybody wasn’t nice to her,” she went on to admit, shocking Cohen even more.

The actress and comedian also gave Fairchild support for taking on such a pivotal role on television.

“You went there — we were the first gay couple on TV, unlike what everyone thinks everyone else was, we were,” Bernhard said.
