Subsequently, Sanjiv Kapoor was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Spicejet Limited in Gurgaon, India, in November 2013. He spent two years at Spicejet in the innovative pricing and marketing strategy department. He left the company in October 2015. In March 2016, Sanjiv Kapoor started working with Vistara – TATA SIA Airlines Ltd. as Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer. His areas of responsibility include strategy, marketing and network planning for Vistara. He has additional responsibilities for cabin services, ground areas and operational control of the airline. During his tenure as company commercial officer, Vistara’s aircraft fleet increased from nine to 45 aircraft. He left the company after three years and ten months with the company. He subsequently joined The Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Delhi, India in July 2021 as President. In March 2022, Jet Airways announced Sanjiv Kapoor as its new CEO.
