Arrested for attacking Prithvi Shaw’s car
On February 16, 2023, Sapna was arrested for attacking the car of Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw. On February 15, 2023, Sapna and her friends were at a hotel in Santacruz, Mumbai, in the presence of Prithvi Shaw. According to reports, Sapna and her friends asked Prithvi to take a selfie, but he refused their request, which further turned into an argument. According to local police, Sapna and her friend Shobit Thakur then hit Shaw’s car with baseball bats and threatened them to pay Rs 50,000 to resolve the matter, otherwise she would file a complaint against Sapna. However, when Sapna’s defense was asked about the incident, he said:
Sapan was a fan of Shaw and just wanted to take a selfie with him, but the cricketer got drunk and behaved inappropriately with her. He even abused his power and position by attacking Sapna with a wooden stick. “
Shaw and his friends then filed a complaint at the Oshiwara police station under sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 148 (rioting), 384 (extortion) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). .
