Sarath Babu (1951-2023), also known as Satyanarayana Dixit, was an Indian actor who worked primarily in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. In his 50-year career, Sarath Babu acted in more than 200 films. He is known for his roles in the Tamil films Mullum Malarum (1978), Nenjathai Killathe (1980) and Annamalai (1992). He is a nine-time recipient of the Nandi Award. Sarath Babu passed away due to multi-organ failure at AIG Hospital, Hyderabad, Telangana at around 1:30 pm on May 22, 2023.

Sarath Babu was born Sathyam Babu Dixithulu on Tuesday, July 31, 1951 in Ama Daravarasa, Madras state (now Andhra Pradesh), India (died aged 71) hour). His zodiac sign is Leo. Sarath Babu started his acting career in 1973 with the Telugu film Rama Rajyam. His performance in the film was well received by the audience and he subsequently appeared in roles in the Telugu films Panthulamma (1977), Guppedu Manasu (1979) and Srungara Ramudu (1979). In 1983, Sarath Babu played the role of Raghupathi (Friend of Kamal Hasan) in K Viswanath’s Sagara Sangamam. He then played the role of the helpless, needy brother of Lalitha (played by Raadhika Sarathkumar) in Swati Mutyam (1985).

After Rama Prabha and Sarath Babu parted ways in 1988, Prabha accused Sarath of cheating her and snatching away all her properties in Chennai. In an interview, Sarat Babu responded to the allegations by saying that they were baseless and that he had never looted any property from her. He said,

In March 2023, Sarath Babu was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru after contracting sepsis. He was later diagnosed with multiple myeloma, which affected his kidneys, lungs, liver and other organs, leading to multi-organ failure. On April 20, 2023, Sarath Babu was shifted to AIG Hospital in Hyderabad, Telangana after her condition deteriorated. He was then put on a ventilator. A few days later, there were various speculations about the cause of his death. However, Sarath’s sister clarified the rumors in a statement and said that the actor is recovering. she says,

Sarath Babu passed away on May 22, 2023, at AIG Hospital due to multiple organ failure. After his death, the hospital released a statement, which read:
He was admitted to AIG Hospital in critical condition on April 20, 2023, suffering from multiple organ failure due to multiple myeloma. As an immunocompromised patient, he received care from a multidisciplinary team and received mechanical ventilator for the lungs, kidney dialysis and other treatments. Despite the best resuscitation measures, he succumbed to his illness. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and fans. “
After his death, many South Indian actors expressed their condolences to Sara. Kamal Haasan tweeted,

Sarat Babu’s body was first kept at the Hyderabad Film Room for his friends, family and fans to pay their last respects. Later, his body was taken to his home in Chennai and cremated on May 23, 2023.
