Earlier on Sunday, Sean commented on Sam Mendes’ upcoming Beatles movies — one for each of the band’s members, John, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr — while sharing one of his dream casting scenarios.

“Well, I hope Emma Stone might think about it,” Sean said Diversity when asked who should play his father, who died at the age of 40 in 1980.

He went on to explain why Stone, who is nominated for best actress at Sunday’s Academy Awards, should be considered for the role: “Because she did such a good job in Poor people and I think if you’re going to make it as an actor, the next obvious step is to actually do it.”

Sean also admitted that it would be “very difficult to cast” a film about his father, given how “famous” John was.
