Sebastian Stan is reportedly set to play Donald Trump.
On Wednesday, multiple outlets reported that Stan, best known for his role as Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will play a young Trump in the upcoming film titled Trainee by director Ali Abbasi.
Stan (41) is expected to act alongside him. Succession‘s Jeremy Strong, who will play attorney and prosecutor Roy Cohn, and Borat 2Maria Bakalova, who is supposed to play the first wife of the former president Ivana Trump, in several outlets.
The official logline for the film states that the film is “an exploration of power and ambition set in a world of corruption and fraud”.
“It’s the story of mentor and protégé that charts the origins of an American dynasty,” reads the logline. “Filled with larger-than-life characters, it reveals the moral and human cost of a culture defined by winners and losers.”

The film, which is currently in production, is expected to cover Trump’s dealings in New York during the 1970s and 1980s, according to multiple sources. Gabriel Sherman, author and reporter known for his 2017 book The loudest voice in the roombiography of Fox News founder Roger Ailes, writes a new film.
Cohn, the late prosecutor and attorney whom Strong will reportedly play in the film, was known for his work with 1950s US Senator Joseph McCarthy on various anti-communist investigations within the federal government, better known as “McCarthyism.” Cohn continued to practice as a lawyer in New York and counted Trump as one of his clients until his death at the age of 59 in 1986. vanity fair characteristic of a couple’s relationship.

Ivana Trump, supposedly played by Bakalova, married Donald in 1977. The couple had three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric, before divorcing in the 1990s. Ivana died in 2022 at the age of 73.
