“Just like a tattoo,” Jordin Sparks will always have her husband by her side.
The “No Air” singer was photographed wearing the name Dana permanently on the back of her thigh in honor of Dana Isaiah. A cursive font is located directly below her rear end. Comfortable for the grip, Sparks wore spandex biker pants, a navy blue hoodie and a black Sherpa hat with white butterflies.
Sparks shared photos of the new tattoo in a now-expired Instagram story. While some fans supported the ink, other commenters expressed concern about getting anyone’s name permanently tattooed.
But her husband defended his relationship and its stability. In an Instagram story. Isaiah recalled some of the wild rumors surrounding his relationship with Sparks before their wedding. “First, I was trying to use her. Second, it was my beard,” he laughed, “Everyone said I was gay. Third, we would never last. Fourth — man, I can’t even keep up, you’re just going to come up with some bulls—.”

Referring to Sparks’ new tattoo – which she got on her 34th birthday – he showed off his own name of hers. “I had her name tattooed for five years, so all this “oh my god it’s her birthday and she named him, don’t get lost sis…” take care of yourself. We are doing well here.”
His lighthearted video led to a page where Isaiah wished his fans and followers a happy holiday.

In 2017, Sparks shocked her followers with a double announcement in which she said not only that she was married to Isaiah, but that they were expecting their first child together. They welcomed a son, DJ, in 2018. “We’re both very excited,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “He was like, ‘I want to shout it from the mountaintops!’ We are really proud to be married to each other and to celebrate this.”
Earlier this year, Sparks reflected on their relationship to PEOPLE, saying, “We both work really well together. We both have our core values, we love each other, we love each other — which is very important. I think we are stronger now. We definitely have a bond that no one can take away from us. I’m just very, very grateful that he’s by my side.”
