On Friday, Ariana Madix reposted a video to her Instagram Story that showed her singing her heart out with Scheana Shay, Lala Kent, Katie Maloney, Kristen Doute and Brittany Cartwright to *NSYNC’s 2000 hit single, “Bye, Bye “Bye”.

The group’s performance included a special performance by Lance Bass, who was one fifth of the boy band alongside Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and JC Chasez. (Bass, 44, is also a good friend VPR docent Lisa Vanderpump.)

The video slowly pans around the room to show Bass dancing and singing along to his song, surrounded by women, who can be seen laughing and holding the last note in the song’s bridge.

The video comes just days after members of *NSYNC reunited during a surprise appearance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday.

While Taylor Swift was presenting the award for best pop video, the favorite ’90s boy band presented Swift, 33, with a set of beaded friendship bracelets. The singer’s fans made it a tradition to exchange friendship bracelets during her record-breaking Eras tour, making it an unforgettable moment on stage.

After Bass presented her with the Moon Person and bracelets, Swift began her acceptance speech by expressing her excitement to see the band reunite.

“You are pop personified, so to receive this from your golden pop hands is really… too much,” she said. “Thanks for the friendship bracelets.”

After the viral reunion, the boy band announced that they will release their first new song in more than two decades on Thursday. The song will be called “Better Place” and will be included in the soundtrack for Universal’s upcoming film,Trolls Band together.

Timberlake, 42, later posted a behind-the-scenes video of the group recording the song in the studio on Instagram.

“So many stars aligned,” he said in the recording, addressing his bandmates. “That’s why I hit you all, I said, ‘Hey, something came up.’ If we do this song, it will be a love letter to our fans. It would be an honor to have the group on this song.”

*NSYNC Recalls US Debut Album 25 Years Later: ‘A True Homecoming’

The band seemed to be having fun in the video, from their quirky dancing and warm hugs to head nodding to the disco-sounding song.

“It sounds good, it sounds like it’s done,” Kirkpatrick added in the clip, before Bass opined that it’s “the first *NSYNC song done in 23 years.”
