Selena Gomez didn’t need the wind to create her real-life Marilyn Monroe moment on Sunday’s 2024 Golden Globes red carpet — nature was on her side.

Gomez, who is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical, for her role as Mabel Mora in Just the murders in the buildingshe walked the red carpet in a beautiful red Giorgio Armani dress.

The design was striking in its own right thanks to the asymmetrical hemline and black detailing, including cutouts at the front that were accented with rosettes, along with black lining peeking out from under the skirt, but the unusually windy weather in Los Angeles added a whole new level of drama to the vibrant look with more dashes.

During her red carpet walk, Gomez stopped to pose for photos, and one photographer can then be heard telling her she’s “working on the wind” in a video he shared Vogue on Instagram. The “Single Soon” singer smiled as the wind caught her hem leading to her embracing her Marilyn moment as the dress rode up around her knees as she modestly tried to keep it in place.

In one photo from the evening, Pugh kept a neutral expression as the wind caught the train of her Valentino gown, creating the illusion that she was walking into the wind as she walked the red carpet.
