Selena Gomez Says Ariana Grande’s Music Makes Her Feel ‘So Empowered’: ‘I Think She’s Incredible’

Selena Gomez is a real fan of Ariana Grande’s music!

On Wednesday, Just the murders in the building the actress, 31, was a guest DJ at SiriusXM Hits 1 and said the “Thank U, Next” singer, 30, has a catalog of songs that always put her in a great mood.

Before releasing Grande’s 2019 single “7 Rings,” Gomez admitted, “Here’s another song I love, Ariana Grande. I can’t do anything fun without listening to Ariana.”

“I feel so empowered, and I think she’s amazing, and I’m just having so much fun,” the Rare Beauty founder continued of her fellow pop star. “I’m the girl who plays Ariana all the time and I think people notice, but I love it! I think she’s amazing.”

More than three years after Grande released her last album Positionsthe Wicked star returned on Friday with an energetic new single, “Yes, And?,” and accompanying music video.

Ahead of the song’s release, the “Dangerous Woman” hitmaker shared a fun teaser on Instagram that showed several people gossiping about her comeback.

“True exclusive, typical Ari,” said one, while another added, “I think I liked her better when her ponytail was a few inches higher.”

While others weighed in on the rumors surrounding Grande, who is dating actor Ethan Slater, another person said: “Well, I read it online so it must be true.”

Earlier this week, Gomez revealed in an Instagram Story that she took a break from social media “for a while” and “focused on what’s really important.”

The couple went public with their relationship in December. A source told PEOPLE earlier this month that Gomez is “super happy and present” amid the new romance.

Just one day after announcing her breakup on social media, Gomez returned to Instagram to promote a cooking video with chef Gordon Ramsay on her Story.

In the 14-minute video, Selena + chef the star cooked a hamburger for breakfast with a famous cook (57) with scrambled eggs, turkey bacon and more.
