School holidays in September 2023: Schools in various Indian states will remain closed on upcoming occasions such as the G-20 summit, Janmashtami and Ganesh Chaturthi. Public holidays are country-specific, and school principals can announce them at their own discretion. Parents and students can contact the school authorities regarding holidays.

Apart from them, Teacher’s Day is also coming up. Several schools organize programs, while some give the day off. There are no public or bank holidays this month, but there are plenty of public holidays.

Haryana Govt. Announces Janmashtami holiday on 7th September

The Government of Haryana has declared 7 September 2023, the auspicious day of Janmashtami, as an official holiday. Previously, the holiday was announced for September 6. However, there has been a slight change in the non-working day, Janmashtami is celebrated on both days this year.

Preparations for the upcoming event are in full swing. According to orders, schools, colleges, government. offices and even some metro stations will remain closed between September 8 and 10, 2023.

Janmashtami holiday 2023

Janmashtami is celebrated in several states on 6th or 7th September 2023. Schools will remain closed on 6th or 7th. But students need to confirm this from the concerned school authorities.

Delhi schools closed for G-20 summit

The state government has declared a public holiday in Delhi from September 8 to 10, 2023 due to the G20 summit being held in India. Leaders from 29 countries and other officials will be present at Pragati Maidan. Therefore, during these dates all schools and government offices including MCD offices will remain closed to ensure smooth running.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2023 holiday

The occasion is celebrated on September 19, 2023. It must be noted that Ganesh Chaturthi is not a public holiday. Rather, it is regional, with states such as Maharashtra, Gujarat Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, MP and Tamil Nadu usually declaring a day off to celebrate the event.

Eid-e-Milad 2023 holiday

Finally, Milad-un-Nabi or Eid-e-Milad will be celebrated on September 28, 2023. All schools will remain closed on this day. Parents and students can contact universities to confirm any confusion.
