Love at first sight
Schonenberger met her future husband in 2007 during a performance in Switzerland. They started dating shortly after. During the interview, Blick said that it was love at first sight and that she was completely delighted. She also said then that they could get married. Mars announced his retirement from touring in October 2022 due to chronic health issues, but the band revealed the next day that John 5 had taken his place, confirming Mars’ complete departure from the band that same week. Mars then sued Motley Crue, claiming the band used the incident as a reason to kick him out of the band he co-founded 41 years ago.
He told Rolling Stone that he covered for them when they wanted to get high and eat things, but now they’re trying to take away his legacy, his stake in Motley Crue, his ownership of the name and his brand. He, on the other hand, won’t let them. “How can you fire Mr. Heinz from Heinz Ketchup?” he wondered. Similarly, in an interview with Variety, he accused his former bandmate of beating him since ’87 in an attempt to replace him. “I wore those bastards for years,” he told Variety.
He claims he helped start the band and that his name is on it. He came up with the name Motley Crue using the money he got from fans to start his band. And he was pushed for years about his memory, which he described as “excessive bullshit,” he claimed.
He remembered going to all of his doctors after being told that his memory was failing around 2012. All of his doctors said that there was nothing wrong with him. Mars said he wants to retire from touring because of his AS (ankylosing spondylitis), an inflammatory type of arthritis that mainly affects the spine and pelvis, which he was diagnosed with when he was 17. He doesn’t have a problem remembering songs or anything, but he does have a problem with people constantly telling him he’s lost his memory, which is completely false, he said.
