Seth Greenberg is a college basketball commentator for ESPN. He is an outspoken supporter of cancer research. But there are rumors that he also suffers from cancer. Is that true? Seth Greenberg, former Long Beach State head coach, is well and healthy as of this writing. There are no reports of his health problems or illnesses yet. He was in excellent health when he attended the wedding of his youngest daughter Paja at the end of September 2023. Furthermore, he turned to Instagram to show off photos from the wedding.
Contrary to popular belief, Greenberg’s late father, Ralph Greenberg, died of lung cancer in 1996. As a result, he is involved in a “personal battle” with cancer and promotes cancer research. In December 2017, he tweeted about fundraising for The V Foundation, writing,
“I lost my father to cancer.” Like many others who have lost loved ones, I miss him. We need to discover a cure.”
Furthermore, the disease affected him emotionally in different ways. During his time at Virginia Tech, Hokies player Allen Calloway died of cancer in 2009, while another player, Coleman Collins, lost his father to lung disease in 2006. In September 2010, Seth told The Roanoke Times about the Coaches Against Cancer project, “ This is a cause that is very close to my heart.” It means a lot to us.”

Seth Greenberg is one of three children of Marilyn and Ralph Greenberg. Brad, his older brother, is also the basketball coach of the Puerto Rican team Cangrjeros de Santurce (2023-present). Seth and his wife Karen Greenberg have been married for 37 years. They married in May 1986 and celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary in May 2019. Ella, Paige and Jackie are the couple’s three daughters. The former basketball coach’s daughters are now adults with families of their own.

Andrew, her husband, is a project manager and estimator at STAFFORD SYSTEMS, INC. (2018 to date).
Paige Greenberg Armold, Seth’s second daughter, has a daughter and a son, Pat, with her husband, James Armold. James is Senior Vice President of Ticket Sales and Services at DC United. They were married at The Greenbrier in White Sulfur Spring, West Virginia on May 15, 2021. Jessica Greenberg Lyon, the youngest daughter, lives with her boyfriend-turned-husband, John Lyon. The couple married in September 2023. Jessica, alias Jackie, graduated from Syracuse University School of Law in 2010.
