Changxin Liang passed away on December 27, 2023 at the age of 81. He died peacefully without any illness. His funeral will be held on January 2, 2024 at Severna Park United Methodist Church. His reception will be held in the Park Plaza shopping center.
He was born on March 15, 1941 in Beijing, China, in a family of scholars and scientists. He graduated in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University in 1964.
He went to the US to get his master’s and doctorate at MIT where he met a woman named Helen Chen who became his wife. She is a fellow student from Taiwan.
After his studies, Changxin joined NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he worked as a senior engineer on several groundbreaking projects. He is the founder of his own company Oceanalpha, which was founded in 1987.
