Shaktikanta Das was born on February 26, 1957 in an ordinary family in Bhubaneswar, Odisha (age 67; as of 2024). He is an alumnus of Model Multipurpose School, Bhubaneswar. Throughout his student career, he was considered an outstanding student.
After completing his studies from Odisha, he moved to Delhi. There he graduated with a postgraduate degree in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.
