Shangela Pierce Will Be Featured As The Host Of “We’re Here” Season 3

Season 3 of HBO’s We’re Here will launch in less than a week. The legendary Emmy-winning series will be hosted by Bob the Drag Queen, Eureka O’Hara, and Shangela. The three queens will visit small towns with the hopes of increasing acceptance and knowledge of the LGBTQ+ community. D.J. Shangela Pierce is an actress and drag performer in addition to being the presenter of We’re Here. She is famous for saying “Halleloo.” Shangela has been in a number of live drag shows that blend flawless performances with comedic aspects.

According to the official summary of We’re Here, the queens will recruit a “diverse group” of locals from Texas, Utah, Florida, Mississippi, and New Jersey. As part of “one-night-only drag performances,” these persons will tell their tales to raise awareness and encourage acceptance in their community.

The summary goes on:

“In each town, the queens empower their “drag daughters” to be their true selves in front of their families, friends, and communities, even when they face rising hostility and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation.”

Shangela, We’re Here co-host, has performed on five of the world’s six continents.

Shangela is originally from Paris, Texas. She graduated from Southern Methodist University with honors. Shangela also serves on the university’s advisory board.
