Shannen Doherty Recalls Hearing She’s a ‘Great Candidate’ for a Facelift — but ‘Wanted to Be Told’ She Wasn’t

Shannen Doherty talks about her experiences with cosmetic procedures — the good and the bad!

On the February 26 episode of her podcast, Let’s be clear with Shannen DohertyThe 52-year-old actress invited her friend Anne Marie Kortright to chat about everything from sexual health to skin care.

While discussing beauty routines, Kortright, a model, told about Beverly Hills, 90210 The alum hasn’t undergone any invasive procedures because she’s “petrified of needles” – and she’s moved her face to prove it.

“Mine too, but I’ve had Botox,” Doherty replied. “I’ve done it several times. I think the last time I did that was about six months ago.”

The Enchanted The actress raved about her recent experience with celebrity-favorite plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond, before recalling a “terrible” one.

She said that two days after the Botox appointment, “my husband looked at me and said, ‘What did you do to your face?’ … My nose didn’t even want to move, it was terrible.”

More recently, Doherty said, she went to Dr. Diamond for a “total evaluation.”

“I wanted them to tell me that I didn’t need a facelift,” she said. “I went in to say, ‘Oh, I’m here for a facelift consultation,’ and what I wanted to hear was, ‘You don’t need that.'”

“But instead what I heard was, ‘Oh, you’re a great candidate for one,'” she recalled, “and I said, ‘No! Not yet.’ It petrifies me.”

After Kortright said it would be an “interesting moment in life” – if Doherty decided to have the procedure – the star said: “Oh, God, I don’t know if I can do it.”

“It really scares me,” she added. “I don’t want to come out as a different person – that’s what really scares me.”

Doherty previously fully condemned cosmetic procedures in an Instagram post in 2021 that celebrated aging – and said she wanted to “see women like me”.

With a naked selfie, Enchanted star wrote: “I was watching the movies tonight and noticed that there were a few female characters that I could identify with. You know, women without fillers, without botox, without face lifting. Women who embraced their face and all the experience it showed.”

“I lived. I love that I lived and that my face reflects my life,” she continued. “I’ve been through a lot, yes cancer, but more than that. I’m embracing it now. Finally. Done with the perception magazines and Hollywood try to get us into.”

“I want to see women like me,” she finished. “Women like us.”
