Sharna Burgess and Brian Austin Green are engaged!
The couple, who have a son together, Zane Walker, announced the news during Friday’s episode of the iHeartRadio podcast Elderly.
Burgess, 38, told podcast host Randy Spelling that they had been engaged for two months but kept the news under wraps. Green, 50, “did the thing” during a surprise birthday party Burgess threw in June, he explained.
“I thought, ‘That’s the perfect place for it,'” Green recalled. Burgess “never saw it,” she said.
As the party continued into the night, several guests were still at their home, the couple explained. At one point, Green told Burgess he had something to show her upstairs. Burgess thought something was wrong, but when he led her into their bedroom, she started to feel like, “This is the moment.”

Green invited his children, including son Journey River, 7, who held a red Cartier box. The actor then took the box from the son he shares with his ex-wife Megan Fox. As he opened it, he asked Burgess, “Will you spend the rest of your life with us?” she remembered.
Burgess told Spelling she had no idea and was completely surprised by the proposal.
“Of course I said yes,” said the professional dancer, adding that it was “the most perfect, beautiful moment” because the children were involved. Green also has sons Noah Shannon, 10, and Bodhi Ransom, 9, with Fox and son Kassius Lijah, 21, with ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil.
Later, Green told Spelling that he felt his engagement was beginning the “second half” of his life. “I had this idea in my head that I wanted the kids to be a part of it, because they’re a part of everything,” Green said.

The kids were also included in the couple’s engagement announcement on Instagram, where Burgess shared a video of Noah, Bodhi, Journey and Zane placing their hands on Green’s hand. At the end, Burgess added his hand, showing the engagement ring.
“Our latest chapter,” Burgess wrote.
As for why they waited two months to make the news public, Burgess told Spelling that it became an “internal dialogue” for her to decide how best to announce their engagement. Green suggested that there is a generation gap between the two when it comes to using social media. Later, they had a “healthy” conversation in which Burgess tried to think of a cool way to make the announcement, but Green felt there was no reason for it.

“He was completely open to the announcement,” Burgess said, but they tried to come to a “middle ground.” None of the ideas were right and Burgess didn’t want to talk anymore.
One day I said to him, ‘I just don’t like the fact that we’re talking about this,'” Burgess recalled. “I’d rather live in our engagement and enjoy it instead of obsessing over the right way to do it. The right way will reveal itself when it’s due.”
Burgess and Green, whose divorce from Fox was finalized in February 2022, began dating in December 2020. The duo made their Dancing with the stars debut during the September 2021 season 30 premiere, sharing a kiss at the end of their first routine.
The couple got engaged just weeks after celebrating their son Zane’s first birthday in June. During the 2023 iHeart Radio Awards red carpet, Green told PEOPLE that Burgess will go overboard spoiling Zane.
“They’re going to end up buying him a house and things like that, a bunch of stuff he doesn’t need,” Green said. “But she just goes, ‘Oh my God, I’ve got a one-year-old,’ and she goes crazy.”
In February 2021, the couple spoke about how grateful they were to have found each other during a 12-minute Instagram Live session, with Green saying: “Everyone knows it’s been a weird year for me, so what an amazing Valentine’s Day. .”
He went on to praise the professional dancer, calling her “an amazing, caring, kind person.”

Brian Austin Green says he and Sharna Burgess “don’t have a label” but things are “going really well”
“And it’s funny — I kind of feel like when you put yourself in a space where you decide on some level that you’re going to surround yourself with people who help you move forward on your journey instead of pulling you back, that they do that,” he said.
“Sharna has been amazing in my life – not just for that reason, but it’s been a huge thing for me. She’s been so invaluable, she really has,” Beverly Hills, 90210 added alum. “And what a great way to start 2021 — to find an amazing person and go into it feeling positive and looking and really feeling, ‘This could be the year that starts something. This could be the start of something amazing.'”

Burgess then shared her thoughts on Green, admitting that he “completely surprised her” and that she had “never met a man like him.”
“To witness someone who is such a good man and an amazing father, and the way he treats everyone with respect and the way people treat him is in itself a testament to the kind of man he is and the kind of man I want to be in my life.” , added the Australian dancer. “So I’m incredibly grateful that 2021 started this way.”
