Sharon Stone’s 3 Children: All About Roan, Laird and Quinn

Sharon Stone is an actress, writer and caring mother of three children.

She first became a mom in 2000 when she and her then-husband Phil Bronstein adopted their first child together, son Roan (23). In 2005, she adopted a second son, Laird, 18, followed by a third son, Quinn, 17, a year later.

Stone has spoken openly about several tragedies she’s experienced throughout her life – both before and after becoming a mother – including multiple miscarriages.

“We, as women, have no forum to discuss the depth of this loss. I lost nine children to miscarriage,” Stone commented on a PEOPLE Instagram post in 2022. “It’s no small thing, physically or emotionally, but we’re still made to feel that something to be carried alone and secretly with some kind of sense of failure.”

Despite the difficulties, Stone continues to see her life experiences as lessons.

“I’ve been through it all — sexual harassment, miscarriages, brain bleeds, divorce, lightning strikes,” Stone said in an interview with AARP. “I don’t have time to mess around. I’m here to be a healthy and present parent, a good daughter and an engaged citizen. Everything else is just a distraction.”

In October 2023, Stone told PEOPLE that she has no regrets about putting her family ahead of fame.

“I’m thankful that I chose motherhood and that Hollywood wasn’t my priority, because they certainly weren’t my priority,” she said.

Roan Joseph Bronstein Stone, 23

Stone’s first child, Roan Joseph, was born on May 22, 2000.

After six years of marriage, Stone and Bronstein divorced in 2004 and were awarded joint custody of Roan. The former couple agreed that their son would primarily live with his father in San Francisco during the school year. However, in 2008, Stone contested the agreement and demanded that Roan move with her to Los Angeles, although a Los Angeles judge denied her request. Still, Stone and Roan remained close throughout his childhood.

In 2023, Stone spoke on a podcast about losing custody of her son A Table for Two with Bruce Bozzisaying that physically “broke her heart”.

“I ended up at the Mayo Clinic with extra heartbeats in the upper and lower chambers of my heart,” she said. – It broke my heart.

In 2017, Roan and his younger brothers Laird and Quinn honored their mother’s love at the Breast and Prostate Cancer Research Associates Mother’s Day Luncheon. During their talk, Roan recalled his favorite piece of advice from Stone: “Treat others as you would like to be treated and do your best.”

Two years later, Roan petitioned to change his last name in honor of both parents.

Now 22 years old, Roan is acting and has posed Give away magazine in 2020. According to his mother, he is even “a gifted glassblower.”

Laird Vonne Stone, 18

In May 2005, Stone adopted her second son, Laird.

“I’ve been trying to adopt a second child for years, with general struggles,” Stone told PEOPLE at the time. “So I didn’t fully, fully believe it until it was in my hands.”

Although the Stone children are not usually seen in public, Laird has made several red carpet appearances with their mother over the years. In 2017, Roan and Laird walked the red carpet for the film’s premiere A little something for your birthday.

That same year, Laird praised Stone as he and his brothers presented her with the Mother of the Year award. “My mother deserves this award,” Laird said. “I love you mom,”

When Laird was 13, Stone told PEOPLE he ran cross country and “came home with mud all over him.”

She also spoke about living at home with her three sons, saying: “I’ve been living in the same house I’ve had for 25 years, and I feel happy waking up in my own house with my children. They’re at a wonderful age when we don’t have to have a nanny anymore he lives with us. I can wake up on Saturday and come downstairs and they’re playing and we hang out. We swim, play basketball, watch movies. We have such a nice family dynamic.”

Stone’s youngest son, Quinn, was born in June 2006. Like his older brothers, Quinn has also attended several of his mother’s star-studded events. Quinn accompanied Stone to the Dior Homme Menswear fashion show when he was just 6 years old.

It also appeared on Stone’s Instagram feed. In 2021, Stone released a collection of throwback family photos titled “And Then There Were Four of Us.”

While speaking with PEOPLE in 2018, Stone said that Quinn was the quarterback on his football team. “I got the text video clips of the game today and it’s a big thrill for me,” she said.

The Basic instincts The actress was also candid about the challenges of raising three sons as a single parent. “When you decide to embark on this great adventure of being a single parent, you don’t know what it’s going to be like,” she once said. “You think, how am I ever going to do all this? It’s just a lot. Even with the help we’re so blessed to have, your hair still falls down the drain in the shower. It’s just a lot.”

However, she added, “This is a very good time in my life right now – my life is happy.”
