Shawn Booth Welcomes First Baby with Dre Joseph: ‘Best Feeling in the World’

Shawn Booth is a dad!

Former Bachelor contestant, 36, welcomed his first baby with Dre Joseph, he shared on Instagram late Wednesday.

Booth posted a picture of the baby’s feet on his Instagram Story. “Baby Booth arrived yesterday and is healthy and perfect,” he captioned the post.

“Mom is an absolute rock star and she did amazing!” he continued. “Everything went super smoothly and we couldn’t be more grateful. The best feeling in the world.”

Shawn Booth shares first photos with pregnant Dre Joseph ahead of first child together (Exclusive)

In July, Booth and Joseph talked to PEOPLE about welcoming their child on the way, sharing exclusive first-time photos of the couple together that featured Joseph’s baby bump.

“If you know me at all, you know that I’ve always wanted to be a dad [and] Becoming a first-time dad fulfills that lifelong dream,” Booth told PEOPLE of the exciting news. “As I prepare to embrace this new chapter, I am filled with deep gratitude and a desire to cherish and cherish this precious life.”

“I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life and now I’m ready to embark on the most wonderful adventure of fatherhood. I feel so lucky to have Dre by my side as the mother of my child. I am in awe of her strength and kindness.”

“She is a loving and resilient woman, and with her by our child’s side, I know that they will be guided by the force of nature [that’s] nurtures a heart of compassion. Our child is already incredibly lucky to have her as a mom,” Booth said of Joseph.

Agreeing with Booth, Joseph added, “I think Shawn describes it perfectly when he says, ‘It’s the best surprise of our lives.’ It’s true. I’ve always wanted to be a mom.”

“I come from a family with four children and many relatives so I’ve always wanted a big family too! And while this may not have been the exact plan, I feel extremely lucky to be going through this process with Shawn by my side,” said the photographer.

Booth previously announced he was expecting his first child on his “In the Booth with Shawn Booth” podcast, saying, “I was dating a lot of people. I was dating a bunch of people. I had a girlfriend…I’ve always kept things private.”

After noting he had a “very big announcement,” Booth said he was “going to be a dad.”

“December 12th, baby Booth on the way,” he announced on the podcast. – It is happening, I will become a father.
