In an interview, Shruti spoke about her experience working on her debut film X=Prem and said;
I wrote about the character of Joyee, a computer engineer. The film is a coming-of-age musical romance that will tell the story of four different individuals and how they relate to each other. Shooting my first film under the direction of Srijit Da was a dream come true. I learned a lot from him. Thank God, I didn’t get any scolding from him during the shoot, on the contrary, it was fun to work with Srijit da. ”
