Simon Cowell Introduces New Family Dog Named Pebbles: ‘Our Family Has Had a New Arrival’

Simon Cowell’s family is growing!

The English television personality (64) is the father of a dog again!

“We’ve got a new addition to our family… her name is Pebbles,” he wrote on an Instagram carousel on Thursday. In a two-photo transfer, the cover image sees Cowell with a nice-sized puppy in his arms.

Sitting at the table holding the dog, both pull their faces to each other as if they are kissing sweetly.

In the second photo, the ex American Idol The referee nestles his face in Pebbles’ ear as Pebbles smiles. Cowell did not reveal the dog’s breed.

Cowell previously had four dogs, including Yorkshire terriers Squiddly and Diddly. After Cowell’s mom died in 2016, he also started caring for her dog, Freddy, and later adopted a fourth dog, Daisy, in 2018.

In August, during the filming for American talent Season 17 Live Semi-Finals at the Sheraton Pasadena Hotel, Cowell walked the red carpet with his little new dog, Odin.

He posed for pictures on the red carpet with a puppy, which looked like a Pomsky.

In addition to having puppies as pets, Cowell also has a history of animal activism, especially for dogs.

The London-born talent donated just over $36,000 to Humane Society International to rescue 200 dogs — including poodles, Labs and collies — from “sad and depressing” lives in October 2018.

The canines were kept in cages at a dog meat farm in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.

“His support helped financially, but also in raising awareness. We met people in South Korea who heard about his donation and it really had an impact,” Wendy Higgins, HSI’s director of international media, told PEOPLE of Cowell’s “extraordinarily” helpful gift at the time.

In July 2020, Cowell had an emotional reunion with one of the dogs he had previously helped rescue from a South Korean dog meat farm.

A sweet moment aired during ITV Good morning Britain. The show’s correspondent Philippa Tomson eventually adopted the puppy, a Maltese mix named Robin.
