Simone Biles Appears to Respond to Backlash over Husband Jonathan Owens' Comments: 'Are Y'all Done Yet?'

The gymnast posted on social media on Saturday what appeared to be a response to recent events

Simone Biles is speaking out.

On Saturday, the Olympic gymnast, 26, appeared to hit back at the criticism her husband Jonathan Owens has received this week for saying he sees himself as a “clue” in their relationship, during the couple’s appearance on The Pivot podcast, hosted by Ryan Clark , Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder.

Posting a photo of a confused-looking child scratching his head on X (formerly known as Twitter), added a question to followers in the caption.

“Are you done yet?” – wrote Biles with the photo.

Her post β€” which she also shared on her Instagram Story β€” comes after both she and Owens, 28, appeared to hit back at the Greenbay Packers safety on Friday over his comments on the podcast.

Criticism of Owens centered around a point in the conversation where Crowder asked him, “How the hell did you get Simone Biles out?”

The NFL player responded, “She really pulled me over, man, that’s the question,” and shared how he didn’t know who Biles was at first and explained why.

“When she won the Olympics, I was in college and we didn’t have NBC, we didn’t have Olympic channels and we were in [training] camp [in] late July, early August,” he told Crowder, adding, “So, I’m not paying attention. I would never have a moment to watch [her compete].”

Owens then described how the award-winning gymnast first messaged him on the dating app and the pair “texted back and forth” before meeting three days later.

When the NFL star was asked if he considers himself “the catch” in his relationship with Biles, he explained that “I always say men are the catch.”

He then said he was “afraid to commit” because of where he was in life at the time, adding, “Like, ‘It’s a little early.'”

“But you know, it happens when you least expect it. When we hung out, we hit it off right away. I was laughing all night,” he continued, before explaining that he realized how successful Biles was when he saw how fans reacted to her.

After the podcast aired, Owens received backlash for what he said. However, his apparent response on Instagram showed he wasn’t taking it to heart.

“Smooth πŸ˜‚β€οΈ Just know we’re locked in here 🀞🏽,” he wrote alongside a series of photos of himself and Biles on Friday, including snaps of them posing together and sweet moments from their wedding day.

“πŸ€žπŸΎπŸ’‹ for life,” Biles wrote in the comment section of the post before sharing it on her Instagram Story.

She also shared a photo of the couple on their wedding day on her Instagram, with the simple caption “mood”.

In 2021, Biles told PEOPLE that the couple can always lean on each other for support.

“Oh, he’s always so supportive,” she said of her husband. “Even if I wake up in the morning and say, ‘I’m tired, do I have to go,’ he jokingly tells me, ‘Don’t say that! You can do it, this is your dream!’ ”
