SIR David Jason has opened up about the almighty feud with co-star Nicholas Lyndhurst that has fans fearing for the end of Only Fools and Horses.
The 82-year-old actor recalled an incident in which he and his close friend and colleague got into a huge brawl in front of the show’s production crew that left them “shaking in their boots.”

David and Nicholas, 62, hatched a plan to fake the row in an attempt to find something to pass the time during long breaks from filming Only Fools and Horses.
The pair worked together on the popular sitcom for 22 years before it ended in 2003.
In an interview with The Mirror, he told all about one of their ‘furious arguments’ in which the pair insisted they would ‘never work together again’.
David said: “One day, Nick and I were in our very small caravan on location.
“We were all fed up with nothing happening so Nick and I said ‘Why don’t we have a big fight and you can storm out and say you’re leaving and I can yell at you to never come back?’
“The whole crew froze.
“Five minutes passed and the producer and director came to me, shaking in their boots.
“They asked what was going on and I told them to go see Nick.”
At this point he knew the game was up and continued, “When they got to him, I couldn’t hold back any longer and I laughed out loud.”
“They went from white to purple face color.
“I don’t think the producer was too impressed.”
Fans of the sitcom remain obsessed with him more than 20 years after the last episode and were delighted to see Sir David dressed in character earlier this month.
Sir David attended the annual two-day convention of the Only Fools and Horses Appreciation Society in Milton Keynes.
And now the star has revealed to The Sun’s TV Mag whether the series could return.
He said: “Well, to be honest with you, we’d really like it to happen because not only have we enjoyed it so much, so have the majority of the British public. That’s why we’d love to do it.” “
But before Only Fools fans could get too excited about the prospect, he added: “I don’t think we could do another episode of Only Fools And Horses because the mastermind behind it, Mr John Sullivan, is sadly no longer with us .”
Indeed, John passed away in April 2011 at the age of 64 from pneumonia.
Meanwhile, actor Roger Lloyd Pack – who played Trigger – died in January 2014, while John Challis, who played Boycie in the show, died in September 2021.
Nicholas has enjoyed a resurgence in his TV career and stars alongside new friend Kelsey Grammer in Paramount TV’s Frasier reboot.
