Sister Wives’ Janelle Still Has ‘High Regard’ for Kody — but He Thinks Christine’s Digs Mean She’s Not Over Him

It’s safe to say that not all heads of the Brown family are held in high esteem.

Sunday’s final Sister wives: one on one In the episode, we saw Kody Brown and some of his ex-wives share different opinions about each other. Starting with Janella, she spoke to host Sukanya Krishnan about the possibility of restarting her ruined marriage.

“I don’t foresee us ever making up, I don’t think,” said Janelle, 54. “It would be some kind of magical fairy tale where we all transform into some other people, and that doesn’t happen in real life.”

But Janelle still saw how now exes become friends in one moment. “Yes! I still hold him in high esteem. I remember all the good times, but I don’t want to reconcile,” she explained.

Reflecting on how “happy” Kody is right now with fourth wife Robyn Brown, Janelle said it’s “OK” that they’re moving on, adding, “Maybe one day I’d like to find the same thing. But not right now.”

Although Janelle still thinks highly of her ex-husband, Kody and his first ex-wife, Christine Brown, aren’t so fond of each other after their divorce. (Christine, 51, was the first of Kody’s four wives to leave him, followed by Janelle and Meri Brown.)

Joined by now-husband David Woolley, Christine said she couldn’t be who she was with Kody because he “just wanted me to be positive” and “just wanted me to be fun”. She also claimed that Kody “only likes the fun little bubbly part of me” and that she’s “not going to bang him anymore,” especially now that she’s found happiness with David.

Continuing, Christine said that Kody and Robyn “deserve to be happy” and added, “Go and be happy with each other, for God’s sake. Be happy with each other. Let the rest of us go, let us go.”

“Stop being mad,” she said then, referring to Kody and his constant changes in behavior. “And then we can all get along again when you let it go and stop being angry.”

Kody, meanwhile, recalled an “awkward life” with Christina during the family’s time in Las Vegas, but said things “took a bit of a turn” when they moved to Flagstaff, Arizona. After claiming he “never wanted this to happen”, he said: “But what bothers me is her attitude towards me, her laughing [and] mocks my suffering.”

When asked if he blames her for “ruining the big picture,” Kody said, “No because it’s all my fault for marrying a woman I didn’t love.”

“It’s the truth and she knows it,” he said. “As hard as I worked at it and dug into it … every piety I could have, it still prevailed for us. It never really worked.”

The Brown family patriarch also called out Christine for her frequent attacks on him and his only remaining wife, Robyn. In particular, he dismissed Christine’s “accusation” that Robyn never wanted to live a polygamous life, prompting him to make his own bold proposal.

“I don’t think Christine knows Robyn at all. She’s never tried. She’s never been there,” he said. “She was… a sister’s wife, probably, and I hope, a very good wife for David. It didn’t fit.”

“There’s a thousand reasons why afterwards, looking back, you can say those are all the reasons she wasn’t good at polygamy. But those are all the reasons I probably wasn’t,” he continued. “… But making that accusation against Robyn is just sour grapes.”

Kody concluded, “I think it’s now that she’s in love with David [she would stop]. But she should prove it by never saying a nasty thing about Robyn again because then I’ll believe Christine is in love, when she has nothing bad to say about Robyn or me to our children.”
