Botched Star Terry Dubrow Says He Wants to Take Ozempic Again After Quitting: ‘It’s Like the New Botox’

Terry Dubrow will not be away from Ozempic for long.

The Bad star, 65, spoke with Hey! News at the 2024 GLAAD Media Awards on Thursday and admitted that he misses the body he had while taking Ozempic, an FDA-approved prescription drug for people with type 2 diabetes.

It’s one of the brand names for semaglutide — also known as Wegovy — which works in the brain to make you feel full and is Hollywood’s latest weight loss trend.

“How am I doing without Ozempic? I’m overweight and chubby,” Dubrow told the paper. “There’s more to love, but I’ll tell you something: I’m off it, but I plan to come back when it’s appropriate. It’s like we have a vacation and then I’ll be back. It’s like the new Botox, Ozempic. I love it. So is good.”

The celebrity plastic surgeon’s wife Heather Dubrow called him “silly” at the time, joking that she was actually happy her husband had stopped taking drugs.

“Thank God it wasn’t Ozempic! He wouldn’t have fun, he wouldn’t eat bread. There was no pasta,” The Real Housewives of Orange County the star joked.

Bad Star Terry Dubrow Says Tylenol Is ‘More Dangerous’ Than Ozempic

Dubrow first announced that he tried and later left Ozempic earlier this year, sharing that his curiosity led him to jump into the relationship.

“I tried. I thought it was amazing,” he said Page six in January. “I didn’t have that much weight to lose. But I wanted to try it because so many of my patients were on it and I wanted to see what it’s like when you’re not diabetic and only have 10-15 pounds to lose.”

Dubrow admitted he experienced some side effects like “mild nausea” while taking the weekly injections, but is still a “huge fan” of the drug.

“I think it’s a miracle,” he said at the time. “The greatest advance in the history of medicine.”

However, Dubrow said he eventually left Ozempic because he missed “the joy of eating.”

“I thought, ‘You know what, I kind of want to get my appetite back. The holidays are coming, I want to enjoy them'”, he explained.

“You go on vacation, maybe you don’t exercise, you eat too much,” he continued. “It was kind of like, ‘Well, I want to go on a food vacation,’ which means I want to be able to eat again because it really took away my appetite and all the joy of eating.”
