Kody Brown is making sure his wife Robyn’s marital status is clear.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek of the Dec. 15 episode Sister wivesRobyn asks her husband if it’s okay for her to go to church without him because she plans to join her oldest daughters on the field trip. He replies, “As long as you guys don’t block me, I want to come sooner or later.”
The Brown family patriarch, 55, continues to explain his reasons for wanting to attend, telling Robyn: “You don’t want to be without me for too long because I don’t want some guy to think you’re a single mom.”

Kody knows from his own experience that Robyn, 45, has no shortage of interested suitors.
“A lot of men are interested in Robyn,” he recalls in the confessional. “And somehow they were trying to bypass me and her.”
“The first time I saw you at our church, we made that look, that connection,” Robyn says as she giggles.
“No, I looked,” Robyn replies before Kody says, “Oh, no, no, no, no. I watched longer. As you looked away, I actually said that was probably inappropriate, she’s most likely married.”

Sister wives: Kody admits he thought about ‘fucking’ Janelle in Coyote Pass drama, but wife Robyn ‘won’t let me’
Kody then recalls his first meeting with his future wife, who joined his polygamous marriage with Meri, Janelle and Christine in 2014. Since then, the other three sister wives have left the arrangement and now Kody is married only to Robyn.
“The first time I saw Robyn – the first time I laid eyes on her – I was leaning over the back of a chair, talking to the neighbor behind me and we looked into each other’s eyes and I couldn’t tear myself away,” he shares while grinning.
He then asks Robyn about her own memory of their meet-cute, and she teases him, “You want to hear it? You like hearing this, don’t you?”
“I want to know that God was my companion with you and that no one can take you,” he tells her.

Robyn then shares her version of the story, saying, “I was sitting there with my cousin. I looked around me. I watched you for a while and what caught my eye when I saw you were your laugh lines, because I love laugh lines. And then you looked at me and lightning struck my body.”
“The first time I saw Kody was in church and that’s when I got my lightning bolt,” she adds in the confessional. “And a month later, I happened to meet Kody and Meri on my cousin’s lawn.”
Kody tells Robyn that he’s not interested in history repeating itself, saying, “I don’t want some guy doing that, looking at you and walking away…holding your gaze.”
He declares that he’s “protecting his partner now,” adding, “I’m protecting my pride.”
Robyn makes it clear there’s nothing to worry about, saying, “I just have to say I’m married.”
After Kody asked her to see the “rock” on her finger, she replied, “I’ll wear it. You don’t need to worry.”
“I just wanted to make sure that glow was big enough to keep those guys away,” he says as Robyn laughs.
