Leon Brown shares how music helped them through hard times.
In a series of photos posted on Instagram, the 28-year-old Sister wives The alum talked about the transformative experience of seeing his favorite artists Joy Oladokun and Brandi Carlile on stage at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, Colorado.
“I’ve been trying all week to find the words to describe seeing @joyoladokun for the second and third time and seeing @brandicarlile for the first time last weekend and I just don’t think there are words,” they wrote on the carousel, which included videos of the performance and selfies with their partner Audrey Kriss.

Leon continued: “Joy’s music got me through some of my darkest days. i sobbed watching them play ‘sort of’ by the red rocks. as a queer kid who was also raised in a church that taught me to hate myself, the music of joy resonates deeply with me.”
“I can’t really think of any words other than — thank you, joy, for creating such life-affirming and hopeful art, your music has truly changed my life,” they concluded.
Leon, the only child of Meri and Kody Brown, revealed that he is transgender in June 2022 in an emotional post shared on Instagram.

“Someone recently told me that I don’t have to figure out all my s— to be able to share myself with the world,” they wrote alongside a series of photos of them posing in doorways. “So here I am, definitely getting almost none of my s— to tell you I’m trans.”
“My name is Leon or Leo (I love both) and my pronouns are they/them,” they added.
The TV personality went on to reflect on the first time they knew they didn’t identify as a girl: “I was quite young and unfortunately I grew up in a context that was incredibly gendered and restrictive.”

“So I continued to be socialized as a girl, and later as a woman. And here’s the thing, I’m finally ready to share my favorite self with the world. And that self is incredibly genderqueer, trans, and unrelenting,” they explained.
“Being queer and trans are definitely some of my favorite parts of myself. and yet, there are so many things I’m learning to love about myself through this process,” they continued. “This is for me to get to know myself, share myself and constantly evolve to be the person I am, to be my most beloved self in all contexts.”
