Sister Wives' Meri Brown Doesn't Want Kody to 'Interpret' Her Utah Move as Being 'Done' with Their Marriage

The two of them legally divorced in 2014, but they intended to stay in each other’s lives

The Sister wives the Mary Brown drama continues.

From her public divorce from Kody Brown to getting caught by a woman, Meri, 52, has dealt with her fair share of struggles on the popular TLC series. As her nearly non-existent relationship with Kody, 54, drifts apart amid ongoing family tensions, Meri has decided to move her Lula Roe clothing business into the carriage house of her boarding house in Parowan, Utah. But she’s not sure how Kody will take her decision.

On Sunday’s episode, Meri revealed her concerns to her longtime best friend, Jen Sullivan, who runs Meri’s B&B, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, while Meri spends most of her time in Flagstaff, Arizona.

“It causes me great anxiety. But yeah, I’m going to move my clothes over here, so I can be here more often. You can help me with that part,” said Mary Jen, who expressed how happy she is to have the TLC personality around more regularly.

And while Meri explained that she, too, is looking forward to spending more time with her friend — and having all of her work in one place — she doesn’t want Kody to feel like she wants nothing to do with him.

“I would like my relationship with Kody to get to a place where we have, like, a good marriage, but that’s not where it’s at right now,” she explained. “And I feel like when I tell him I’m going to move my business to a B&B, he’s going to take that to mean I’m done with this relationship. And I’m not there.”

While the couple hasn’t discussed her move yet, a preview for next week’s episode shows Meri telling Kody’s fourth wife, Robyn Brown, about her planned move — and Robyn seems upset that she’s (mostly) leaving for good.

“Meri, he’s still talking about all of us on the property,” Robyn, 44, tells Meri in a sneak peek.

“There’s no doubt, Robyn, he’s done with me,” Meri replies before the camera cuts to Robyn sobbing in a separate confessional.

“Please work it out with us here,” says Robyn, in tears.

Despite their legal divorce in 2014, Kody and Meri have decided to remain in a “spiritual marriage” until they announce their official divorce in January. Kody also split from his third wife, Christine Brown, in 2021 and his second wife, Janelle Brown, in 2022.

Earlier this month, Meri took to Instagram to announce that she was welcoming happiness back into her life after her split. “Bring joy, bring fun, bring success! Happiness is a good feeling!” she captioned the post, adding “#WorthyUp” and “#GreatnessBeginsToday.”

Meri spoke further about her path forward in an interview with PEOPLE in August, saying that “things are good” between her blossoming friendships and successful business.

She also noted at the time that a big reason her relationship with Kody ended was jealousy. “Every time you expand your family, there are going to be changes,” Meri told PEOPLE. “You just have the logistical stuff, but you also have the emotional stuff. I’m a man. I will get jealous. He is a man. He won’t know how to deal with female jealousy.”
