Meri Brown is celebrating a new chapter in her life!
During the brand new episode Sister wives On Sunday, Dec. 29, the businesswoman, 53, opened up about moving from Flagstaff, Ariz., to Parowan, Utah, and marking a new beginning with a housewarming party at her bed and breakfast, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn. The celebration also comes after her 32-year polyamorous marriage to Kody Brown came to an end.
“It’s been a few months since I officially lived here in Parowan, so we’re having a housewarming party,” Meri says in the confessional-style clip. “It’s great to see so many people just want to hang out with me and celebrate this next chapter of my life because that’s totally what this is all about.”

She continues, “You know, I think it’s interesting that I actually live in the house because when I bought the house, that wasn’t the intention.”
“I know Kody felt that way. I think other family members did it too, that it was my escape plan. It’s like, no, whatever,” she adds. “I mean, I think the escape plan was that legal divorce. Let’s be honest, that was his escape plan.”
Along with Meri, Kody was married to Christine Brown, who was the first to leave the polygamous marriage in November 2021, and Janelle Brown, who later confirmed her divorce from Kody in December 2022. Robyn Brown is now Kody’s last remaining wife since the beginning of the polygamous marriage .
Meri and Kody announced their divorce in January 2023, and she was later granted an official divorce through her church.

Besides celebrating her fresh start in Utah, Meri has another post-divorce topic on her mind – dating!
“The party went well. It was easy and casual and also really good to meet some new people in town,” she explains during the episode, before adding, “There were no dating prospects at this party. God damn it.”
She notes that at some point it might be a good idea to host a “speed dating party” at a bed and breakfast.

During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in December, Meri opened up about dating again after her short-lived relationship with now-ex Amos ended earlier this year.
“Right now, I’m dating, not exclusively. But you’re dating not exclusively, and then you’re like, ‘Okay, I can focus on this person. Let’s be exclusive,'” she told PEOPLE. “And then, see if it works into something. That one just didn’t. And so, we broke it off and now I’m dating non-exclusively.”
While she’s keeping her options open on the dating scene, she also noted that it’s important for her to focus on herself as a single woman.
“I’m learning about myself. I’m learning about other people,” she said. “I’m learning to trust myself and say, ‘Hmm, I’m getting a funny vibe. This person just isn’t for me.’ Even if it’s not a funny vibe, there’s nothing wrong with the person, it’s just not for me.”
