Romy Mars enters his songbird era.

17-year-old daughter of Priscilla director Sofia Coppola and Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars kicked off their music careers on Wednesday, May 22, with the release of two singles, “Stuck Up” and “From a Distance”.

The debut pair of bedroom pop songs — written by Romy and produced by singer-songwriter Claud — feature the teen singer’s soft vocals through heartfelt lyrics as she tells a confessional tale of a summer romance gone bad.

On “Stuck Up,” he channels teenage angst as he sings, “Is this like a dream or a nightmare / But I’m stuck in a haze / On or forward and I can’t find your face.”

Meanwhile, on the explicit song “From a Distance,” Romy sings with more attitude, saying, “Always gonna be someone else you’re f—ing seeing / Always gonna be speed in these eyes I keep believing.”

In the video, the newly minted singer also shared that she decided to make the TikTok — which showed her casually making vodka pasta sauce — because she had “already been punished” and “her parents’ biggest rule is that I can’t have anything public on social media networks.”

“Here’s why,” she explained, holding the Grammy award with a sarcastic smile. “Because they don’t want me to be a nepotistic kid, but TikTok isn’t going to make me famous, so it doesn’t really matter.”
