Sofia Vergara is ready to show her other side.
The Modern family The alum, 51, is set to star in Netflix’s upcoming limited series Griselda. In the six-episode drama, Vergara stars as Griselda Blanco, the murderous queen of Miami.

He created the series Narcos and Narcos: Mexico showrunner Eric Newman, and the director is Andrés Baiz. In addition to executive producing, Vergara stars alongside Latin music star Carolina Giraldo (aka Karol G), who plays Carla, one of Griselda’s most trusted confidants.
Netflix’s recently released trailer for the series, premiering on January 25th, gives a detailed look at the Colombian drug cartel leader known as “The Godfather.”

The trailer opens with a court scene where a woman says that “Griselda Blanco owned Miami and distributed cocaine” for the past three years. The man next to her adds, “Ms. Blanco’s operation was efficient, lethal, and incredibly successful.”
As the on-screen text reminds viewers that the show is inspired by real events, Griselda says: “There are a lot of women who leave a man, but not a husband. I swear I know what I’m doing.” The trailer cuts to a clip of Griselda talking to a group of men and women outside a motel.
“This is the land of dreams. We have the power to bring excitement back into their dull lives,” she says in Spanish.

As the music picks up, Griselda is seen trying to make a drug deal when the man says in Spanish, “Go home, ma’am.” He adds, “I’m going to tell every dealer in Miami not to touch your car.”
Then the house is set on fire, and the scene of the crime is shown.

“One woman is behind all this. Pull the right card, the whole house will collapse,” says the woman as a photo of Griselda is seen on the wall of the criminal investigation.
After Carla tells Griselda that people are asking about her in Colombia, Griselda is heard saying, “After everything I’ve been through, I wouldn’t give it for anything. Do you want to see how far I can go?”
Griselda is then seen standing in front of a fire as people crowd around her, the words “queen”, “innovator”, “mother” and “assassin” flashing on the screen. Dressed in a white suit, Griselda is seen walking into the office as someone comments that she walks “like a boss”.

Griselda will premiere on January 25th on Netflix.
