Star Jones' Ex-Husband Al Reynolds Says He’s Been 'Very Honest' with Past Partners About His Sexuality

Star Jones’ ex-husband, Al Reynolds, is speaking his truth.

Reynolds, who was married to the former View co-host from 2004 to 2008, he came out as bisexual in 2017 and recently shared that all of his former partners were aware of his sexuality.

During the last part of Fox Soul Tea-GIF, Reynolds, his co-host Claudia Jordan and guest co-host comedian Luenell weighed in on whether someone who is transgender should share their gender identity on a first date.

Reynolds, 55, weighed in and said he doesn’t believe it’s “easy” for a person to find out because “there are so many factors that go into this.”

Luenell then pointed out Reynolds’ previous marriage to Jones, 62, and asked him about his sexuality. “Did you go out and expose yourself to Star when you first got married?”

“Oh my God, I’ve never been unfaithful to someone I’ve dated,” Reynolds replied.

He continued: “I’ve talked about it on this platform before. I’ve always been very honest with all my partners about my sexuality… everyone. At the time I was dating them, I was very open and honest about my sexuality.”

PEOPLE reached out to a representative for Jones for comment, but did not immediately hear back.

He said that although many people “speculated” about his sexuality, he was ready to tell his story.

“I’ve come to a point in my life where I’m ready to talk about my truth,” he said in part. “I wasn’t ready to do it then — I wasn’t ready to even think about it, let alone process it.”

“Today I accept myself as a bisexual man. I learned that sexual orientation is not binary, at least for me. I am capable of loving both sexes, and I have done both,” he added. “My relationships, all of them, were honest and based on my attraction to the other person. When I’m in love, I don’t hesitate, I don’t waver.”

He said he then decided to come out with the hope of helping others, concluding: “I will no longer live in fear or shame.”

Jones has since married administrative law judge Ricardo Lugo. The two met online and married in 2018, and renewed their vows last year.
