Announcing that the show will continue virtually until Stephen Colbert recovers, it was confirmed that he is “ok”

Stephen Colbert is taking a “show must go on” approach this week for his self-titled series.

Official accounts on social networks The Late Show with Stephen Colbert announced on Monday that the host tested positive for COVID-19. And despite that diagnosis, Colbert will continue to host his CBS late-night show remotely from the comfort of his home.

“IN THE MEANTIME… Late show It’s going to look a little different tonight as Stephen is at home with Covid (he’s ok!),” reads the post on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). “But be sure to tune in because the show will be going the distance with Monologue, Meanwhile, Jada Pinkett Smith and Ricky Velez. #whatyearisit?

It is not known at this time how long the show will continue virtually while Colbert, 59, recovers. However, Rachel Maddow, Talking Heads and Jon Batiste are among the guests who will appear on Late show later this week.

“Yes! I tested positive for Covid, but actually I feel good – I’m grateful to be waxed and stimulated,” he said earlier on social media. “Thank you for your well wishes. This just proves that I will do anything to avoid an interview with Jason Bateman.”
